Shelfie announced today that it has partnered with De Gruyter to make the scientific book publisher’s entire catalogue available to individual customers through ebook bundles.
Shelfie is a free mobile app that allows users to take a photo of the physical books they own and then receive the digital or audio versions of those titles either free of charge or at a reduced cost.
“The addition of De Gruyter makes Shelfie the hub of scientific and technical ebook bundling,” said Mary Alice Elcock, vice president of content at Shelfie. “This is an important vertical for Shelfie’s readers, and we are thrilled to be able to better serve their needs.”
Shelfie currently has more than 450,000 titles available through its app, which is available on iOS and Android. Some of the publishers Shelfie has already partnered with include HarperCollins, Macmillan, Hachette, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley and McGraw-Hill.
