Hachette Opens New Warehouse to Accommodate Acquisitions

HachetteHachette announced today that it has opened a new warehouse in Lebanon Business Park—25 miles from Indianapolis—a space that the publisher has occupied for 20 years. Since that time, Hachette has continued expanding its footprint and will now occupy more than 2 million square feet spread over three facilities.

The newest addition was built to accommodate a new distribution client, p i kids, a sound book publisher for whom Hachette expects to ship more than 15 million units annually. In addition, the new space allows Hachette to onboard Perseus books, its largest acquisition to date.

Expansion accommodates expanding client portfolio and major recent acquisition

May 4, 2016 (New York) – Hachette Book Group has opened its doors on a new building in Lebanon Business Park, 25 miles northwest of Indianapolis. In twenty years in the Park, Hachette has steadily expanded its footprint and will now have two million square feet in three adjacent facilities.

The third building will accommodate a large new distribution client, p i kids, the leading sound book publisher in the world, for whom Hachette expects to ship over 15 million units annually. The new space also gives Hachette the opportunity to onboard Perseus Books, the company’s largest acquisition to date.

Frank Casolaro, VP Distribution and head of Hachette’s Lebanon facility, said, “We’re fortunate that there was a building available across the street from our Distribution Center. The new space has been built out quickly and efficiently over the past four months and will be home to major new client p i kids, which began operations on May 1, and the increased volume that Perseus will bring. We’re hiring staff, and looking to recruit great talent within central Indiana to fulfill operational needs in our state-of-the-art facility.”

Lebanon Mayor Matt Gentry added, “Hachette Book Group continues to provide a best practices model, not only for Lebanon, but for all of Central Indiana.
