AAP: Audio Grows, Ebooks Fall for Feb. 2016

AAP, books, ebooks, sales, publishersThe Association of American Publishers (AAP) released its latest StatShot data, for February 2016. The highlights are below:

Publishers’ revenue was up for Feb. 2016 compared to Feb. 2015, growing 4.2 percent from $597.4 million to $662.2 million.
Year-to-date sales were down 3.0 percent to $1.68 billion vs. the same two months in 2015.
Trade (consumer) book sales were $418.1 million in Feb. 2016, down 0.9 percent from $422.1 million in Feb. 2015.
Ebooks were down 18.7 percent.
Digital audio grew 42.9 percent.
Hardcovers grew 4.6 percent.
Paperbacks grew 9.8 percent.
