Scribd announced today that it has added a new vertical to its subscription service: sheet music.
Subscribers can now receive access to more than 2,600 sheet music selections from renowned songbook publisher Hal Leonard. These range from contemporary hits to classics, and users have the ability to browse by song, artist, genre, instrument or difficulty level.
Of the news, CEO and Co-founder Trip Adler said, “We are excited to bring even more value to our subscribers and to connect them with many different types of books while helping publishers reach new audiences. Each new partner validates our belief in the longevity of the subscription model, and we look forward to continuing to offer the most diverse selection of content to our readers.”
The new content is available to all subscribers within the service’s $8.99 monthly plan.
In addition, Scribd also announced that it has expanded its reference category with thousands of titles from Elsevier, a leading provider of scientific, technical and medical books, ebooks and journals. Subject areas range from social and behavioral sciences to engineering and physical science.
