Kobo and ABA Partner to Encourage Local Ereading

Program Enables Booklovers to Try Reading Digitally While Supporting Favorite Independent Bookstores

Toronto, ON – August 24, 2015 – Kobo, a Rakuten company and leading innovator in the digital reading space, and the American Booksellers Association (ABA) today launched the “eRead Local” program to encourage customers to try eReading. Now through November 29, participating ABA members will receive $5 USD for each new Kobo customer acquired. What’s more, each new customer who creates a Kobo account through an affiliate ABA member will receive a $5 USD credit for use toward their first purchase of a Kobo eBook.

Once a customer has signed up through an affiliate ABA member, that store benefits from every subsequent purchase made from Kobo’s catalogue of more than 4 million eBooks.
