New Partnership to Bring More Digital Content to Libraries
hoopla digital Partners with Boopsie to Ensure Public Library App Users Gain Access to More Than 170,000 Titles
Partnership with Boopsie ensures branded mobile apps of participating libraries connect to hoopla digital’s app and broad range of movies, TV shows, music titles and audiobooks
hoopla digital, a category-creating digital service that partners with public libraries across North America, today announced a new partnership with Boopsie, the industry-leading mobile platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider for over 2,500 library locations worldwide. Through this new partnership, patrons using library-branded mobile apps from Boopsie will be a tap away from hoopla digital’s app – and more than 170,000 popular movies, TV shows, music and audiobooks.
The integration leverages Boopsie’s proprietary App Finder and Scheme Handler technologies to seamlessly direct patrons of participating libraries to find, download and access the hoopla digital app.
“We’re excited to partner with Boopsie to ensure patrons using library-branded mobile apps can find out about our service, download our app and access all of hoopla digital’s content, which includes thousands of popular movies, TV shows, music albums and audiobooks,” said Jeff Jankowski, owner and founder of hoopla digital.
There is no waiting to borrow titles on hoopla digital since on-demand content can be enjoyed by multiple patrons simultaneously via smartphones, tablets, computers and Apple TV. Library card-holders who use the service also avoid library late fees as digital content borrowing periods simply expire without additional charges.
“hoopla digital launched last summer and has already been adopted by the largest and most innovative libraries across North America,” said Boopsie CEO Tony Medrano. “Library patrons love having the power to download and stream music, videos and audiobooks right to their smartphones and tablets – and Boopsie is excited to help our libraries get more use out of their hoopla digital subscriptions via mobile distribution.”
hoopla digital has partnerships with more than 280 library systems across North America and is currently live on the Boopsie library-branded apps of St. Charles Public Library, Arapahoe Library District and Darien Library.
To begin using hoopla digital, card holders of participating libraries can download the free hoopla digital mobile app on their Android or IOS device, or visit hoopladigital.com. Libraries that use Boopsie’s mobile platform are encouraged to contact Boopsie to activate their hoopla digital subscription in their library’s mobile app. The service is only available to patrons of participating public libraries.
