More Money Pouring into Book Publishing

shutterstock_130505279Digital Book World parent company F+W, A Content + eCommerce Company has new ownership — new York-based private equity firm Tinicum has acquired a majority ownership stake in the company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company will continue to be run by the same management, though the board will be mostly changed. For a “vast majority” of F+W employees, much won’t change day-to-day.

F+W recently changed its name and its corporate website to reflect the new nature of its business. While traditional book publishers that do little else may not be as attractive to investors today, content and e-commerce firms don’t suffer the same image issues.
