Hachette Hires Stacy Creamer as Executive Editor for New Imprint

[Press Release]

Mauro DiPreta, VP, Publisher of Hachette Books, announced today that Stacy Creamer will join Hachette Book Group as Vice President, Executive Editor of Hachette Books, a new publishing division built on the foundation of the Hyperion backlist, which HBG acquired last summer. The Hachette Books list will include narrative nonfiction, business, pop culture, science, health and wellness, humor, and some fiction. Creamer will start at HBG on June 16 and will report to DiPreta.

Creamer has had a 30-year career in publishing and most recently was VP, Publisher at Touchstone, a division of Simon & Schuster. Prior to Touchstone, Creamer was VP, Editor-in-Chief at Broadway Books, an imprint of Random House. Creamer began her career at Putnam, starting as assistant to Phyllis Grann and rising to the position of VP, Senior Editor. During her three decades in the industry, Creamer has acquired and edited numerous acclaimed bestselling and award-winning books by such authors as Lance Armstrong, J. A. Jance, Lauren Weisberger, Elizabeth Edwards, Douglas Blackmon, and Kurt Eichenwald, among many others.

“It is such a pleasure to welcome Stacy as Hachette Books’ first Executive Editor,” DiPreta says. “She has a long record of success, great taste, and the respect and admiration of all of us in the industry. The depth and breadth of her list is a perfect match for the future of Hachette Books, and with someone of Stacy’s stature on board, we are hitting the ground running.”

Creamer adds, “I’m thrilled by this unique opportunity to help build the Hachette Books list. I look forward to acquiring and editing exciting new narrative nonfiction, memoirs, and novels, especially with the extraordinary sales and marketing support that HBG has demonstrated time and time again.”
