Impact Mobile has teamed up with Simon & Schuster / Atria Books to provide digital eBook vouchers that allow authors to more effectively distribute their eBooks to a large audience. The eBook vouchers are unique codes that are pre-purchased by a sponsor or any third party; they can be distributed online or via mobile and redeemed as a free book download by event audiences at author speaking engagements and book signings. This vouchering system enables authors to quickly and efficiently distribute their digital eBooks at speaker events and to communities of interest.

The digital voucher system will be in use at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where Impact Mobile CEO, Gary Schwartz, will have a presence on behalf of both Impact Mobile and as author of FAST SHOPPER, SLOW STORE (Atria Books; September 25, 2012; ISBN-10: 1476718709; $0.99), a ground breaking book that shows how best to connect with your mobile consumer to drive revenue and loyalty.     This is very innovative in a time when eBook sales are rising. It is worth noting, however, that All Romance eBooks has employed a similar voucher system for several years. ARe has hosted the eBook Expo at the RT Booklovers Convention, allowing authors to purchase vouchers to sell to readers. Any author selling books with ARe may register for vouchers any time.

    I imagine more publishers will follow suit.

      As Kathryn says above it is certainly an innovative time in digital publishing. The eBook expo mentioned above works very well, I can say that as working for Total-E-Bound Publishing who have attended and being part of the event for several years now.

      As an eBook Publisher we already have a voucher system in place that we use at events and for authors to further promote their titles. As a digital publisher it is important that we can meet the needs of our authors and readers and providing codes whether they be online or in physical voucher format is something that we do as a matter of course within our promotional campaigns.
