Simon & Schuster Creates New ‘Integrated Marketing’ Position

GAIL GONZALES JOINS SIMON & SCHUSTER AS DIRECTOR OF INTEGRATED MARKETING
Gail Gonzales has joined Simon & Schuster in the newly created role of Director of Integrated Marketing, reporting to Liz Perl, Senior Vice President, Marketing. Gonzales will direct key initiatives to bring Simon & Schuster authors, brands and content to consumers via non-traditional means including produced on-air broadcast and streamed audio and video programming; thematic large-scale author events; and web-based live events and series. She will find new ways to connect authors with readers and create new opportunities for branding and revenue growth. In addition to working closely with and building on the efforts of the publishing imprints, the sales division and digital group, Gonzales will cultivate outside partnerships to create unique programs that will amplify multi-media marketing.

Gonzales joins Simon & Schuster from Hay House, Inc., where she was Director of Marketing, New Media and Publicity. While there she managed and programmed a suite of online assets including Hay House Radio (a branded internet radio program with more than one million monthly listeners), live-streaming author events and conferences, a loyalty VIP program and social media platforms, as well as a self-publishing division and title campaigns for the company’s robust list of books and related products in the mind/body/spirit categories. Prior to Hay House, she held marketing positions at corporate, financial and sports marketing firms.
