CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today at Print 13 in Chicago, Silicon Publishing, Inc., in collaboration with Grafenia PLC, announced the release of Cloud Designer, a low-cost, high-feature, Cloud-based solution for premium-quality online print creation. This eagerly anticipated release builds on Silicon Publishing’s well-known Silicon Designer, the online design tool that has leveraged the power of Adobe InDesign Server for large enterprises since 2009.
“The release of Cloud Designer means that for the first time ever, print services companies of just about any size can affordably offer customers an online editing tool that is just as efficient as those deployed by major players” – Max Dunn, Silicon Publishing’s CEO
This extension of traditional Silicon Designer gives printers, designers and entrepreneurs a brandable, easy-to-use, online design and editorial system. If customers outgrow Cloud Designer, upgrading to a fully custom Silicon Designer solution is very straightforward.
As the feature set of the company’s flagship Silicon Designer continues to evolve, Dunn expects many key elements to find their way into the new offering: “We see Cloud Designer as a powerful, high-value offering of our core Silicon Designer technology, serving a much broader market. Some of the trails we are blazing include robust HTML5 round trip with InDesign, 3D support, and iPad/Android output using Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite.”
Cloud Designer integrates with an optional companion shopping cart system. Entrepreneurs don’t need deep technical skills to create fully-featured shopping carts offering print and mobile products to online customers. Also included is extensive content from Grafenia’s TemplateCloud.com, the world’s largest library of crowd-sourced editable online designs with more than 10,000 sector-specific templates.
Peter Gunning, Grafenia CTO, sees additional benefits: “There are other shopping carts in the marketplace, but Cloud Designer provides the missing link for productive work. It can also combine online editing capability with an easy-to-set-up e-commerce platform which is fully-loaded with creative content.”
This new version of Silicon Designer can be deployed for a base investment of only $299 a month. The full-feature shopping cart system can be added for an additional $149 a month.
