SESAME STREET APPS NOW AVAILABLE FOR KINDLE FIRE AND AT THE AMAZON APPSTORE

Popular Sesame Street Apps Also Offered as Part of Kindle FreeTime Unlimited

Sesame Street apps are now available for Kindle Fire. Sesame Workshop today announced the launch of three of its most popular Sesame Street apps at the Amazon Appstore for Android. The apps Elmo Loves 123s, Another Monster at the End of This Book and Potty Time with Elmo are among the first Sesame Street apps available for Kindle Fire.

Elmo Loves 123s, Another Monster at the End of This Book and Potty Time with Elmo are available at the Amazon Appstore for Android for an introductory price of $.99 for a limited time. In addition, Another Monster at the End of This Book and Potty Time with Elmo are available as part of Kindle FreeTime Unlimited.

“We are excited to extend the range of our Sesame Street content available to Kindle Fire and Kindle FreeTime Unlimited users with these apps,” said Scott Chambers, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Media Distribution. “Our apps focus on everyday encounters and situations for children and help build fundamental skills by inviting them to play along with their friends from Sesame Street.”

Sesame Workshop collaborated with Amazon to bring Sesame Street ebooks and television episodes to Kindle Fire as part of Kindle FreeTime Unlimited last year. Kindle FreeTime Unlimited is Amazon’s content service built just for kids, and includes access to thousands of books, games, educational apps, movies and TV shows in one simple, unlimited service for kids ages 3-8.

Slide, swipe, touch and trace your favorite numbers to discover fun number games in the Elmo Loves 123s app. Count and play along with Elmo and his friend Abby Cadabby with coloring pages, puzzles, songs and video clips. As children play their favorite number games using the Elmo Loves 123s app, parents and caregivers can use the 123s tracker to see what they’ve learned.

Another Monster at the End of This Book is based on the bestselling print book, first published in 1996. This evergreen favorite, a sequel to the classic The Monster at the End of This Book, features Elmo and Grover in a play-along story, which builds children’s literacy skills and teaches socio-emotional concepts in a laugh-out-loud way. Ever fearful of what awaits him at the end of the story; Grover finds comical ways to prevent readers from turning pages. But the ever-curious Elmo slips past him every time—with the user’s help.

The app’s features include word highlighting, animation, character voice by both Grover and Elmo, bookplate personalization and tips to help parents and children explore the story’s themes on a deeper level. Another Monster at the End of This Book app was created in association with Callaway Digital Arts, Inc.

The Potty Time with Elmo app is also based on the bestselling book of the same name. The app features a story with Elmo about the rewards of learning to use the toilet, as well as songs, stickers and a reward chart for children. For parents, the app includes tips, multiple story modes and a chart to help track their child’s progress. Sesame Workshop and Publications International Ltd. (PIL) produced Potty Time with Elmo.

Sesame Workshop is also offering two free apps in the Amazon Appstore, Sesame Street for Military Families and Sesame Street: Divorce. The Sesame Street for Military Families app provides mobile access to videos, articles, storybooks, parent guides, and other resources to help support preschool and school-aged children as they encounter transitions common to military families. The Sesame Street: Divorce app provides parents and caregivers with tools to help children ages 2-8 cope with the many transitions related to divorce or separation. Both apps are extensions of current Sesame Street outreach initiatives.

The Workshop will be adding additional Sesame Street apps, including The Great Cookie Thief and Elmo Loves ABCs, to the Amazon Appstore and Kindle Fire in the coming months.
