Random House Australia Acquires Print and Ebook Rights to Best-Selling Book App

Print Friendly

Random House seems very comfortable with turning the traditional publishing cycle on its head. Following the recent announcement that it would publish the Fifty Shades series of books in hardcover this year – after successful ebook and paperback releases – its Australian division will publish the print and ebook editions of a best-selling app, according to a statement.

The app is Dandelion, one of the most popular book apps in the Australian iTunes store from 2012. The app is about a child who hates going to school because he’s bullied there. He eventually overcomes his fears. It’s by Galvin Scott Davis, who developed the app in response to his son being bullied at school.

The app will come out as an ebook on March 15 and as a hardcover picture book on April 1.
