Patti Pirooz has been promoted to Publisher Penguin Audio. Patti started at Penguin in 1999 as audio manager and helped merge the Penguin and Putnam Berkley audio divisions into Penguin Audio. As executive director of audio, Patti has built an impressive list of great audio books and increased both sales and titles substantially over these past 10 years. Because of her creative directing and reader choices, Penguin has won numerous awards. In 2009, Penguin won an Audie, the award given by the audio industry for the most distinguished achievement in production, for the incredible recording of The Help, and in 2012, Betty White’s If You Ask Me, which Patti produced, won a Grammy for the best spoken word audio.
Working with Patti, Penguin built a state of the art recording studio at 375 Hudson that has saved Penguin thousands of dollars in costs and has given us the control and the quality we need to continue to produce fantastic audios.
Patti also has managed the transition into digital audio recording and has worked with many of our top authors and readers over the years. They all have told us what a great experience they have had recording with Patti and her team. Patti reports to Dick Heffernan.
