HarperCollins Publishers Expands HarperCollins 360
Karen Davies appointed Affiliate Publisher
HarperCollins today announced the expansion of HarperCollins 360, a global publishing program for its authors. HarperCollins books published in the U.S. will now be listed, published, and available to booksellers and consumers in the U.K. through the HarperCollins global print and digital platforms, which include regional warehousing with on-site printing machines.
Karen Davies, formerly Head of U.K. Sales for NonFiction and Collins, has been appointed to the newly-created role of Affiliate Publisher of HarperCollins 360. Davies, with marketing and publicity support, will work closely with the sales teams on both sides of the Atlantic to ensure the distribution, marketing, publicity and sales of HarperCollins U.S. books into the U.K. marketplace.
“We are committed to ensuring that all books published by any division of HarperCollins around the world are available in print or digital format in all English-language markets,” said Michael Morrison, President and Group Publisher U.S. and Canada. “We see this as a great opportunity for our authors.”
“We are excited to extend HarperCollins 360 into the UK market,” said Vicky Barnsley, CEO of HarperCollins U.K. “We’ve already seen tremendous success for U.K. titles published into the U.S. under this program, and anticipate similar success with books coming into the U.K. Ultimately, the program will include titles from HarperCollins Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India into the U.K. market as well.”
When the programme is fully implemented, the HarperCollins global catalogue – currently consisting of more than 50,000 print books and 40,000 e-books – will be available, limited only by the rights held, not by technology or geography.
