Startup Readin.gs launches from the road, to deliver curated monthly book subscriptions.
Wednesday, March 5th 2013 | San Antonio, TX
NYC based Readin.gs will launch in private beta tomorrow at Rackspace Global Headquarters in San Antonio, TX. Team members will present at the annual StartupBus competition where they’ll go head to head with teams from San Francisco, Mexico City, Tampa, Chicago, and alumni.
The co-founders, Brooks Swinnerton, Alice Ng, Jamie Roth, and Ryan Kanno met just 72 hours ago in New York, before boarding for the 1750 mile road trip to the South by Southwest Interactive Conference in Austin, TX. Swinnerton was struck with the idea after meeting NASA astronaut T.J. Creamer, “The book he recommended, Death by Black Hole by Neil Degrasse Tyson, exposed me to the world black holes and the history of the universe, uncovering new curiosities.” Readin. gs strives to recreate Swinnerton’s personal experience for its users.
Over 10 curators’ reading lists are available for subscription, including Tony Hseih, Harper Reed, Baratunde Thurston, Aliza Licht, Erik Grimmelmann, PHD, Anthony Calsalena, Erin Quill, Liza Kindred, Ben Huh, and FAKEGRIMLOCK.
Readin.gs connects curious minds with curated content.
We offer a monthly subscription that delivers curated books from influencers in industries like technology, entrepreneurship, food, and fashion. Members pay $20 monthly to receive one ebook or paperback from a curator of their choosing.
