According to New York Times reporter David Streitfeld, Amazon, like many tech companies, will reveal little in its earnings report that it will file today after markets close:
After the market closes Thursday, Amazon.com will release its second-quarter earnings. As a veteran of many of these reports I can tell you exactly what the company will say: nothing. Tech firms are famously closemouthed, but Amazon consistently leaks little and says less. This is a company, after all, that refuses to disclose how many of its signature product, the Kindle e-book reader, have been sold. Apple doesn’t like to talk either, but at least it will say how many iPhones and iPads were purchased.
Nonetheless, he goes on to speculate what Amazon might say. Read much more at the New York Times.
