As part of its ongoing project to brand itself more strongly among authors and agents, Random House has launched a newsletter aimed at book publishing agents.
The company writes at the top of the newsletter:
Following positive feedback about our Author Newsletter, we are launching our Agent Newsletter edition this month, containing the same behind-the-scenes spotlights and information, and highlighting new features and content added to the Author Portal.
It’s a big publishing world–welcome home!
“The hundreds of literary agents who have signed up with us for the Random House Author Portal now are able to receive the monthly newsletter, absent writer-specific online marketing resource tools and access to our webinars our Portal team creates for our author subscribers, thereby enabling the latter’s representatives to be better informed about how Random House is supporting its books and their clients,” a spokesperson from Random House said.
As authors and agents have more choices in the e-book era in terms of how they monetize their book content, publishers and self-publishing portals have been increasingly vying for their favor.
