Raft of New Fall Releases Debut as E-Book Best-Sellers; No Easy Day, Gone Girl and Fifty Shades Still Own Top of List
The top five e-book best-sellers last week were exactly the same as the week before: Penguin’s No Easy Day leads the pack, followed by Random House’s Gone Girl and the three Fifty Shades books.
Despite the static nature of the leading books on the list, a raft of titles that debuted last week made the list for the first time.
Random House’s A Wanted Man by Lee Child debuted at No. 6, no doubt buoyed by robust sales the past four weeks for Deep Down, a short by Lee Child released by Random House priced at $1.99 and designed to tease last week’s release. Penguin’s Delusion in Death by J.D. Robb debuted on the list at No. 13 and Simon & Schuster’s The Price of Politics by Bob Woodward debuted at No. 18.
One notable back-list title shot up the list: Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis, an Hachette release from Oct. 2010. Its rise was due to a price drop to $0.99.
