Pew: Twitter Use up to 15% Among U.S. Internet Users
According to new research from the Pew Internet & American Life Project, some 15% of U.S. adults who are online use Twitter; 8% do so on a typical day.
This number is up from 13% and 4% in May 2011, respectively. In 2010, only about 2% of online adults used Twitter regularly.
Pew theorizes that the rise of smartphones and seamless integration with Twitter has helped propel the social network’s rise.
