Perseus CMO Rick Joyce: Marketing Is the Next Frontier (Video)

Now that many publishing houses have figured out how to digitize their front- and back-lists and have begun building e-book sales, the next step is to hone the art of e-book marketing, according to Rick Joyce, chief marketing officer of the New York-based Perseus Books Group, the largest independent publisher in the U.S. and a major book and e-book distributor.

The profusion of marketing start-ups in the book-publishing space shows both a need for better book marketing and that “outside interests” see book publishing as a growth industry, said Joyce.
