Open Road Hires New Strategic Advisor
Continuing to expand its team, digital publisher Open Road has hired Maggie Crawford as a strategic advisor, focusing on commercial fiction, including romance, women’s fiction, thrillers and mysteries.
Crawford spent many years at Simon & Schuster division Pocket Books as vice president and editorial director until being laid off in 2009 during a period of cutting for the large publisher. She has also spent time at Warner Books (now Grand Central Publishing and a division of Hachette), Dell Publishing, a division of Random House, and Avon Books, a HarperCollins division, where she was executive editor.
Crawford has worked with best-selling authors Johanna Lindsey, Perri O’Shaughnessy, Karen Robards, and Elizabeth Lowell. She will report to Open Road publisher Tina Pohlman.
