OPEN ROAD MEDIA EXPANDS ITS DIGITAL MARKETING TEAM

Digital Publisher Continues Its Commitment to Aggressively Marketing Its Authors and Their Works

(New York, NY, May 7th) Open Road Integrated Media, a digital publisher and multimedia content company, announced today that it is continuing to expand its marketing team. The announcement was made by Rachel Chou, Open Road’s chief marketing officer.

Chou said: “Open Road is a marketing company built from the ground up to use the latest digital tools to aggressively promote our authors. We are excited to grow our creative and passionate team as we continue to connect authors with readers.”

The following members of the marketing team have been promoted:

Allison Underwood has been promoted to Senior Marketing Manager. Underwood specializes in emerging digital platforms, social media optimization, and content-driven marketing. She is the marketing lead on nonfiction and romance titles, as well as a wide range of publishing partnerships including Pegasus, Cosmopolitan, and ProPublica. Prior to joining Open Road a year ago, Underwood worked in digital content development and marketing for Macmillan Audio and in online marketing and content management for the Knopf Doubleday imprint of Random House.
Lara Selavka has been promoted to Associate Interactive Producer. Selavka maintains the distribution of all digital content for openroadmedia.com, monitors the development of the company’s marketing platform, and contributes to the production of enhanced ebooks.

The following have joined the marketing team:

Iris Blasi has been named a marketing manager at Open Road reporting to Allison Underwood. Blasi previously held positions as a digital media manager with literary PR firm Hilsinger-Mendelson East and an associate editor with Union Square Press. In addition, she has worked for Random House, NBC, and The Idea Logical Company. Her writing has appeared in outlets including The Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, and Publishers Weekly.

Cindy Peng and Brittney Inman have joined Open Road as digital marketing assistants

Previously Peng worked in publicity and marketing at Skyhorse Publishing, an independent book publishing company. She holds a Master’s degree in Publishing from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
Inman previously worked as a subsidiary rights assistant at Hachette Book Group, where she focused on both foreign and domestic rights for Little, Brown titles. She also assisted author Joyce Johnson in research for her forthcoming biography of Jack Kerouac and interned in the literary scouting division of Sanford J. Greenburger Associates and in the editorial department of Gotham Books/Penguin Group. Inman earned a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from The New School, and is a South Carolinian turned Brooklynite.
