Nooking the Flame of Culture, a Fire Nookd for Reading
A new e-book version of Tolstoy’s War and Peace from ironically named publishing company Superior Formatting Publishing has “Nookd” a fire of derision.
In the version of the e-book being sold for $0.99, every instance of the word “Kindle” has been replaced with “Nook,” resulting in some awkward constructions. One is, “It was as if a light had been Nookd in a carved and painted lantern,” msnbc.com points out.
The error was probably the result of a “find and replace” operation gone too far, formatting for the Nook after having formatted for the Kindle.
