PRESS RELEASE:

Kar-Ben Publishing Launches Online eBookstore Featuring Jewish Interest eBooks for Children

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Lerner Digital™, Lerner Publishing Group’s growing digital publishing division, is pleased to announce the launch of the Kar-Ben eBookstore. With nearly 170 Jewish-interest eBooks available for children, the Kar-Ben eBookstore (http://ebooks.karben.com) allows parents and young readers to easily browse, select, purchase, and conveniently read high-quality children’s eBooks from award-winning authors and illustrators.

“We are thrilled to make our complete eBook collection easily accessible to our customers via the new Kar-Ben eBookstore, which allows simple online purchasing and reading of fiction and nonfiction titles that highlight Jewish holidays, Bible tales, folktales, and life-cycle stories,” said Joni Sussman, publisher, Kar-Ben Publishing. “Our new eBookstore allows parents and children to experience our books in exciting new ways.”

Kar-Ben’s eBookstore is a user-friendly site for previewing and purchasing eBooks. No log-in is needed to browse the eBook collection, which includes a growing collection of Kar-Ben titles. Parents who purchase eBooks may log-in with their eBookstore accounts and read purchased eBooks within the digital bookshelf, which may be searched or filtered by category, age, and other attributes.

The Kar-Ben eBookstore and eBooks are available for browsing, purchasing, and reading via any Web browser. Lerner Digital will also launch a new Kar-Ben eReader App— a dedicated eReader for the iPad® to support mobile reading on the increasingly popular tablet. The Kar-Ben eBookstore and eReader App were developed in partnership with Impelsys, a global leader in providing electronic content delivery solutions. The app is available free in the Apple App Store at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kar-ben-digital-ereader/id483986351?ls=1&mt=8.

“For the first time Jewish parents and their children have direct access to Kar-Ben’s extensive eBook library,” said Terri Soutor, vice president of marketing and digital products, Lerner Publishing Group. “The new Kar-Ben eBookstore makes it possible to access Jewish-interest eBooks anywhere, any time and makes our books more mobile and accessible than ever before.”

In addition to offering Kar-Ben titles for sale via the eBookstore, Lerner Digital will open the eBookstore to other publishers of Jewish children’s books who may wish to take advantage of Kar-Ben’s large presence and strong brand in the Jewish children’s book market.
