Goodreads, the book-focused social networking site that is becoming increasingly important in book marketing, has named its best books of the year. Or, more accurately, its readers have named them.

Taking top honors for fiction is J.K. Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy (Hachette); for nonfiction, Susan Cain’s Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking (Random House).
