Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Teams Up with Barnes & Noble to Put NOOK® Readers Loaded with HMH Content into Students’ Hands
Partnership uses innovation and quality content to help educators develop a love for reading in students
BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–As more students struggle with developing their reading skills, global education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) and Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, today announced a ground breaking program aimed at utilizing technology to develop a love for learning. The partnership offers schools the opportunity to acquire award-winning HMH digital titles on pre-loaded Barnes & Noble NOOK Readers.
For the first time in its illustrious history, HMH will provide bundles of its digital titles for schools, which will arrive in classrooms pre-loaded on Barnes & Noble NOOK Color™ and NOOK Simple Touch™ Readers. The titles, which were carefully vetted by HMH’s team of literacy specialists, are specifically categorized for students at each grade level. Many of the titles, including HMH favorites like Island of the Blue Dolphins, Gathering Blue, and The Willoughbys, are age-appropriate, International Reading Association (IRA)-recommended selections.
