The experiment in agile publishing that Naperville-Ill.-based publisher Sourcebooks commenced at Digital Book World 2012 is swiftly coming to fruition.

The first section of the company’s upcoming title Entering the Shift Age by David Houle is available today on NetGalley.

Over the past several months, the company has been releasing chapters of the book on EntertheShiftAge.com, engaging a community of readers and soliciting feedback.

“Working together, Houle and the community have shaped and changed the content as the book moves from its initial stages as an interactive, digital platform to a ‘traditionally published’ product,” a company representative wrote in an email.

The book will be published in November as both a print book and an e-book.
