Ebook Best-Sellers $0.00 to $2.99 Week Ending 12-1-12
By some reports, sales of Amazon Publishing books have not met expectations — the culprit is thought to be an unwillingness by Barnes & Noble and other bricks-and-mortar retailers to stock the book on its shelves if it can’t also sell it as an ebook. A one-day price promotion to $1.99, however, has juiced sales of Penny Marshal’s My Mother Was Nuts (Amazon) — although the effect may be temporary. The book shot to No. 2 on the Kindle list on Nov. 25 due to the sale but has since gone back to hovering in the bottom quartile of the top-100 Kindle ranks, which was where it was before the pricing promotion.
