E-Book Best-Sellers $0.00 – $2.99 Week Ending 9-1-12

Books on the $0.00 to $2.99 e-book best-seller list benefited this week from The Hunger Games being restored to its $5.00 price for the week. Many of the books listed below moved up the ranks.

Notable newcomers include a Simon & Schuster short with Stephen King as one of the co-authors; an Amazon title, Hidden, that was a New & Noteworthy book until Sept. 1; and Silenced, a title that didn’t really start to sell until Macmillan dropped its price to $2.99 from $7.99 on July 31.

Perhaps MacMillan is slowly learning what the market will bear! Unless you start with a 50 which was in fact, free if you had followed it as fanfiction originally. I wonder how many women realise that they are spending 9.99 or more on a 50 shades book that is a FanFic of Stephanie Meyers books!
I guess all those hours writing FanFic paid off! You’d be surprised how many authors are contributors to the FanFiction site and how many writers get more reads that some popular novels. Well back on topic! Publishers take heed most of your readers don’t want to spend more on an ebook than what a paperback would cost so smarten up! And by the way, why don’t you take a lesson from Baen Publishing and consider giving ebooks to medically qualified disabled people. If Baen publishing can offer this then surely any other publisher can also!!
