Barnes & Noble Finds UK Partner; Just One Problem

After announcing its intention to open its Nook business in the UK, the next step was for Barnes & Noble to secure a bricks-and-mortar retail partner in the country to sell its reading devices.

Barnes & Noble has found such a partner: The U.S. bookseller will sell its Nook products through UK retailer John Lewis, the company announced today. John Lewis is an electronics retailer with 37 stores in the UK and operates johnlewis.com.

Aside from having far fewer stores than Waterstones (296) and WHSmith (611), Amazon’s and Kobo’s partners in the country, respectively, there’s only one problem: John Lewis already sells Kindle and Kobo devices, too.
